Our Dining Room


Head Chef Colin Macdonald and his team look forward to welcoming you to the dining room at Greshornish House. Colin's menus have flair and imagination and his dishes, using the freshest of local seafood, garden fruit and vegetables, Highland meat and game, Scottish cheeses and other national produce, are individually prepared and beautifully presented. Candlelit dinner, complemented by wine selected from our well-stocked cellar, will be a memorable part of your stay. We would like to believe that you will not eat better on Skye - perhaps not even in Scotland!

Awarded a "Gold Plate" by Hotel Review Scotland and with guest comments like: "Don't think twice about dinner; it's fantastic" (Sept '07) and "The food is as wonderful as ever" (August '07) we do not think you will be disappointed.

Greshornish dining room is open to non-residents for lunches and dinners; booking is strongly advised.

Breakfast, morning coffee, light lunches, afternoon teas and children's meals are served in the Conservatory, where a light supper can also be taken by prior arrrangement.

Please make known any specific dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Grilled Hebridean Salmon Fillet, Dill and Caper Butter

Confit Gressingham Duck Leg, Juniper and Thyme Jus

Escabeche of Mallaig Landed Sea Bass, Pink Grapefruit and Asparagus Salad

The above Main Courses are served with Potatoes and Mixed Vegetables

Pan Fried Lochaber Venison Loin, Stornoway Black Pudding, Kailkenny, Chocolate Jus (£)

Halibut Fillet, Skye Pak Choi and Organic Shitake Mushrooms, Oriental Bouillon (£)

Also on the menu when available (or sourced on request): Hand Dived Skye Scallops, Locally Landed Langoustines, Loch Greshornish Lobster, Aberdeen Angus or Highland Scotch Beef Steaks, Isle of Skye Lamb
