"a country house that remains a real home…"*
There is plenty to explore within the old walls of Greshornish House which dates from the early 18th century.
The feel of a country house that remains a real home adds greatly to the atmosphere of a stay at Greshornish, which Neil and Rosemary Colquhoun now run as ‘the ultimate in country house hotels’*. The individual character of the bedrooms, the fascinating history of the house, the comfort of the public rooms and the excellent food combine to give a ‘beguiling experience you will be sorry to leave!’*
Walking from the gardens into the panelled front hall you will find well-used coats, boots and dog leads. Useful maps, books and brochures are on hand to help plan your stay. Heading to the Drawing Room you can relax in comfortable sofas and chairs, or wander through to the Billiard Room for a game of snooker or a duet on the piano; an assortment of family music, books, jigsaws and games are available for wet and windy days. Move to the cosy Reception area and Cocktail Bar for a warming dram or carry on through to the Conservatory where you can stop for a coffee, tea, or some home baking. You will then find yourself in the Dining Room where we hope that you will enjoy one of our candlelit dinners.
Steps and stairs lead to eight very individual and comfortable bedrooms
named after Scottish islands.
